An A3-format drawing, in graphite pencil, washed with an eraser, on sized paper. It belongs to a group of drawings—though not a series—of photorealistic works that I began during the 2020 period (which is when, in theoretical terms, we can speak of the beginning of the «First Man On Mars» Period, a period spanning four years, 2020–2024). This graphite piece, as well as the group of drawings and oil paintings in various formats from that period, were interrupted—as I have already related many times—by the pandemic: when all commerce had closed down definitively, and having already run out of materials in my studio, all pictorial and graphic projects were left sidelined. Naturally, I turned toward purely intellectual pursuits, pure thought, and the digital realm: I began to write, and to draw and design in digital formats. Along with the project of the painting series grouped in sets of six pieces (Hazy Sundays, RGB, Atari-Game Over), all of these drawings were pieces that had been left half-finished. Finally, with the definitive registration of my catalog for HTML format, and its eventual and imminent upcoming commercial activity as a virtual gallery, I wanted to finish all these graphite pieces that I started in the 2020–2021 period. I am finishing this group of photorealistic graphite pieces because I want to continue exploring the genre, even in full-sheet format (70×110-80×100 cm). Moving on to the next stage in my graphic work and creative process required definitively closing this cycle of small and medium-format photorealistic drawings. Furthermore, this coincides with the evolution of my needs regarding photography and its tools: since I want to continue making photographic work and audiovisual projects, I have been comparing prices and studying the technical specifications of lenses and cameras for several months now. At this point, a higher quality black-and-white photograph will result in a more spectacular hyperrealistic or photorealistic piece in pencil or charcoal for the viewer. It will take me two more months to finish all of that graphic work in graphite pencil.
Returning to this exquisite piece, «Bud Can,» I remembered, now that I have been finishing it over these last three days (and having had to read and draw all the typography and inscriptions on this collectible can that references Lionel Messi), that the original name of the piece was given precisely by the legend inscribed on the can: «The most awarded.» So, I titled it like that: «Ten, the most awarded,» because I like long titles (everyone knows that) and because, commercially and strategically, it seemed like a brilliant hook to me.
This current record is a better and more faithful representation regarding the color and real depth of the grays in the work. In the previous photograph, the depth of the blacks was a bit exaggerated. In any case, this record below is also softened by the «eraser wash,» which is also one of the final states of the drawing. It is a final stage in my execution process for a drawing: I do a total wash of the drawing with the eraser, and then I go back in with the pencil. After that comes a final wash with the eraser for the details of highlights and lights, as well as for cleanup and presentation. After that, only the lacquering remains, which is a fixative that adheres the graphite to the paper so that it no longer smudges or detaches. This drawing has three more sessions left before moving on to the exhibition stage for a potential buyer.
The minimum price for this piece starts at USD 2,000. If any buyer offers me USD 2,000 more to title the work and register it as intellectual property under the original name of the work, «Ten, the most awarded,» I will be open to proposals.

Un dibujo en formato A3, al lápiz grafito, lavado con goma de borrar y sobre papel encolado. Corresponde a un conjunto de dibujos -que no una serie- fotorrealistas, que comencé durante el período 2020, (que es cuando en términos teóricos podemos hablar del inicio del Período First Man On Mars, período que comprende cuatro años 2020-2024). La pieza al grafito aquí en cuestión, como así mismo el conjunto de dibujos y óleos en distintos formatos de ese periodo se vieron interrumpidos -ya lo he relatado muchas veces- por la pandemia: Cuando ya todo el comercio hubo cerrado definitivamente, y ya habiendo acabado el stock de materiales de mi estudio, entonces todos los proyectos tanto pictóricos como gráficos fueron quedando relegados. Naturalmente me voy volcando a lo netamente intelectual y pensamiento puro como a lo digital: comienzo a escribir, y a dibujar y diseñar en formatos digitales. Con el proyecto de las series de pinturas agrupadas de a seis piezas (Hazy sundays, RGB, Atari-game over), fueron todos éstos dibujos piezas que se habían quedado a medio terminar. Finalmente, con el registro definitivo de mi catálogo para formato HTML, y su eventual e inminente próxima actividad comercial a modo de galería virtual, he querido terminar todas estas piezas al grafito que comencé en el período 2020-2021. Estoy terminando este conjunto de piezas fotorrealistas al grafito, porque quiero seguir incursionando en el género, incluso en formato de pliego (70×100-80x100cm). Pasar a una próxima etapa en mi obra gráfica y trabajo creativo exigía cerrar definitivamente este ciclo de dibujos fotorrealistas en pequeño y mediano formato. Por lo demás, coincide con la evolución de mis necesidades respecto de la fotografía y sus herramientas: como quiero seguir haciendo obra fotográfica, y proyecto audiovisual, he estado cotizando y estudiando características técnicas de lentes y cámaras desde hace ya varios meses. En este punto una fotografía en blanco y negro de mejor calidad, resultará en una pieza hiperrealista o fotorrealista al lápiz o al carboncillo de mayor espectacularidad al espectador. Me tomará dos meses más terminar toda esa obra gráfica al lápiz grafito.
Volviendo a esta exquisita pieza, «Bud can», recordé, ahora que la estuve terminando estos últimos tres días, (y que tuve que leer y dibujar toda la tipografía y las inscripciones que traía esta lata de carácter coleccionable y que hace referencia a Lionel Messi), es que el nombre original de la pieza se lo daba precisamente la leyenda inscrita en la lata: «The most awarded», entonces yo la titulé así: «Ten, the most awarded», porque me gustan los títulos largos (todos lo saben) y porque comercial y estratégicamente me parecía un enganche brillante.
Este registro actual es un mejor y más fidedigno registro respecto del color y la real profundidad de los grises en la obra. La anterior fotografía, está un poco exagerada la profundidad de los negros. En todo caso, este registro aquí abajo, está además suavizado por el «lavado de la goma», que es además uno de los últimos estados del dibujo, es una etapa final en mi proceso de ejecución de un dibujo: Haga un lavado total del dibujo a la goma, para luego volver a meterle lápiz. Después de eso, ya viene un último lavado a la goma, para los detalles de brillos y luces, como de limpieza y presentación. Después de eso, solo resta el lacado que es un fijador, que adhiere el grafito al papel para que ya no manche ni se desprenda. A este dibujo le quedan tres sesiones más para pasar a la etapa de exhibición para posible comprador.
El precio mínimo de esta pieza parte en los usd 2,000. Si algún comprador me ofrece usd 2,000 más por titular la obra e inscribirla como propiedad intelectual con el nombre original de la obra: «Ten, the most awarded», estaré abierto a las propuestas.
